01T, a specialist global network provider to firms in the media service sector, announced today that it has joined the DPP, the media industry’s business network, and will play an active role in the member community. Starting with the DPP AT HOME event on Content Delivery on 29thMay in London, 01T will add its experienced understanding to the discussion. The objective of the event is to provide wider awareness and understanding of the changing landscape of content delivery. As the frequency spectrum currently used for broadcast comes under pressure, and some frequencies switch off to provide services such as 5G, what will be the effect on broadcast television? Working with a diverse and influential range of broadcasters, service providers and content owners, 01T will provide unique technological and commercial insight from a connectivity perspective to the discussion.
Alex Lower, CEO, 01T stated:
“Content Delivery is changing rapidly. Being part of the DPP community is an opportunity for us to engage with media influencers, allowing us to input our fresh perspective on new technology trends and how best to match connectivity requirements during the debate. Safe, secure and fast delivery of content from A to B is what we do best. By joining the DPP as a member we will be able to better understand the challenges faced by the media industry as viewing habits of consumers for media services change. We are excited to be actively working with industry experts seeking new ways in which to streamline network technology, and for 01T to contribute in maintaining their competitive edge.”
01T will bring examples of their experience in delivering global and European backhaul for a number of content providers, who have already made the switch to deliver content overIP,to their subscribers. Enabling media companies to plan for a full switch to IP delivery allows them to focus on what they do best, creating high quality content. Getting data from A to B in a secure, fast and reliable way, 01T’s network ensures content providers have an effective foundation for their platform to deliver their livestream and on demand content to every screen.
Simon Stokes, who has today been confirmed in the role of Commercial Director at 01T, added:
“In joining the DPP, 01T has a fantastic opportunity to influence, shape and help prepare members for this major industry change in the switch to IP. As content providers meet the challenge of ever changing viewer habits and the safe delivery of content over their networks, 01T will be able to contribute by providing DPP members with our expertise in network solutions and technology concepts.”
Becoming a DPP member will enable 01T to strengthen its compliance program, ensuring adherence to the highest content-security standards. 01T will work with the DPP to achieve the Committed to Security Programme Mark, as well as adopting security best practices when contributing to the DPP Test Lab.
DPP Managing Director Mark Harrison commented:
